Their story

Kusar Masih is held at a brick kiln in Pakistan. She is 50. Her daughter Hina is 20. Her son Shaan is 18. Her brother, Arshad, is 52. He lives with them. He cannot hear well. They are not allowed to leave.

The debt began with her husband. He borrowed from the kiln owner for medical care and what the family needed. Then he died. The debt did not die with him. It fell on Kusar, Hina, and Shaan. They had to borrow again so Arshad could be cared for. Interest is added to what they owe.

Kusar carries the water and stacks the bricks. Hina molds them. Shaan digs the clay and hauls it. Arshad works the mold beside them, helping them try to pay it down. The wages never catch the interest. They cannot pay the owner off. Standing in the dust, they asked for the debt to be paid and for their freedom.

$729 pays that debt in full and sets the whole family free. We line up housing, food, and a new job where they keep all the money they earn. The owner signs papers, and we document it, so their freedom is on record.

Jesus calls his people to be generous. He said that what we do for someone the world overlooks, we have done for him. A gift toward this $729 is how these four people walk out.
