Their story
The Khalid Masih family has been held at a brick kiln in Pakistan for thirty-five years. Khalid is 58. Razia, his wife, is 52. Habeel, the boy they took in, is 13. They are not allowed to leave.
The debt began with broken ribs. Khalid was injured and could not work. He borrowed from the kiln owner to cover what the family needed while he healed. Then bricks broke, and that cost was added to what the family already owed. He could not work properly for some time, so the debt kept growing, and the family was trapped.
Khalid has cataracts now. He can hardly see, and making bricks is hard for him. He still shapes the clay. Razia carries the water. Habeel pushes the cart. The wages never catch the interest.
$741 pays that debt in full and sets the whole family free. We line up housing, food, and a new job where they keep all the money they earn. The owner signs papers, and we document it, so their freedom is on record.
Jesus calls his people to be generous. He said that what we do for someone the world overlooks, we have done for him. A gift toward this $741 is how these three people walk out.
